What To Expect
What to expect as a New Patient
The New Patient Orientation is a free 30-40 minute orientation class where Dr. Gigliotti will provide you and your family with the knowledge to take control of your health and make health decisions grounded in health principles. The class will go over how the body is designed for health and healing, the nerve system explained, as well as the fundamental reason why people begin to experience health complications. We encourage you to bring a spouse, friend, or family member. After the orientation, we will take you on a tour of our office from front to back. We’ll explain what we do, the methods we use, how they help and why. We want you to be familiar and comfortable with the office and our procedures and allow you to get a sense of what a typical visit is like. The orientation is point of entry to care and will develop a simple, yet higher level understanding of how the body works. The principles explained during the orientation will help you take control of your life and make better decisions regarding your health.
Completed intake forms allow us to know more about you and your story, and are also used to help track progress in care.
As part of the Upper Cervical Specific assessment, a nerve thermal scan of the neck will be obtained each visit and will provide the doctor with information about your nerve system. The doctor relies on the thermal technology in conjunction with other methods to determine if an adjustment is warranted that visit or if you are holding the adjustment since last visit. With upper cervical care, holding is healing. Thermal technology is almost 100 years in the making and requires numerous hours of training and is still one of most advanced technologies available to chiropractors.
Following the tour, this is where you will have an opportunity to sit down with Dr. Gigliotti and go over your specific health concerns- where you will share your story so that he may better understand how he may help you and to determine if upper cervical chiropractic is right for you.
The chiropractor will require specialized x-ray imaging in order to detect, analyze and correct any upper cervical subluxations (misalignments). No adjustments are given until x-ray images are obtained and analyzed. X-ray images are taken in-house and require time to analyze and mark up. We take pride in maintaining a high standard of care, ensuring you receive the care you deserve. In upper cervical care, it is vital to eliminate any guess work and generate the certainty needed to get you and your loved ones well. Findings in films will be reviewed with you during Doctors Report of Findings.*X-rays will not be taken on pregnant women, or children under 4
The doctor will have each person’s x-ray findings reviewed in his office individually. Here he will give his recommendations of care based on your specific needs. After we have collected all the necessary information and established you as a chiropractic patient, we will do a thorough chiropractic exam. Findings will demonstrate to you how the subluxation has manifested in your body. Finally, you will receive your first specific and scientific upper cervical chiropractic adjustment!
Congratulations, you have made the best investment in your health and are moving toward living at a higher expression of health and healing. We are very excited and honored to care for you and your loved ones, so we thank you very much.
